About

Who we serve, and what we typically help with

We’re a retirement-focused planning firm in East Windsor, working with households across Western Massachusetts and Northern Connecticut. Most of our clients are in the last few years before retirement, or already retired, and many are between 55 and 75. What they want is straightforward: a plan to turn what they saved into income they can depend on.

Many firms start with products. We start with people and their priorities. We focus on helping you answer the questions that matter most: how much income you can count on, when to claim Social Security, how to think about taxes, and how healthcare and legacy goals fit into the full picture.

Here, we value

Clarity before complexity.

People before products.

Preparation over reaction.

Straight answers over industry jargon.

Long-term relationships over one-time transactions.

Process

Here’s what it’s like working together

1

Listen

We start with a conversation about your goals and what's on your mind.

You walk us through what you're trying to accomplish, what's keeping you up at night, and what you've already put in place. You leave knowing whether we're the right fit before you commit to anything further.

2

Clarity

We organize your current financial picture so decisions are based on facts, not guesswork.

Accounts, income sources, tax minimization strategies, expected expenses — we pull it all into one clear view. Once it's laid out, you can see exactly where you stand instead of piecing it together from a dozen statements.

3

Ease

We help build and explain a coordinated strategy for income, Social Security, tax minimization, and legacy goals.

Each piece is designed with the others in mind, so a Social Security decision accounts for tax efficient strategies, and a withdrawal plan accounts for what you want to leave behind. You get a plan you understand well enough to explain to your spouse — not a binder you set on a shelf.

4

Confidence

We help you make decisions at a pace that feels informed and comfortable.

We don't rush the big calls. You ask questions, sit with the answers, and move when you're ready, so the choices you make are ones you can stand behind years later.

5

Continuity

We stay with you over time and adjust as life and markets change.

Retirement plans aren't one-and-done. A new grandchild, a tax law change, a market shift — we revisit, recalibrate, and keep the plan working for the life you're actually living.

Shawn Wrisley

President

Shawn Wrisley is President of Wealth Preservation Group. For 12 years, he’s sat across the table from people working through retirement decisions that shape the rest of their lives, and his goal in every meeting is the same: that you leave with a clear picture of the income you can rely on. Shawn’s approach is grounded in real life.

He grew up watching what financial stress does to a family, and he now helps build plans designed to take any worry off the table. In meetings, he keeps coming back to three plain questions:

1.  What is this?

2.  What does it do?

3.  What does it mean for you?

He’s also a father of two, which shapes how he thinks about planning for the long haul. Outside of work, he follows baseball and races cars, a hobby that rewards the same habits he leans on with clients: preparation, and a steady hand when the pressure’s on.
