For over 30 years, John has been recognized as a leading financial educator in the Pioneer Valley and Northern Connecticut. He has developed a specialty in working with retirees and those about to retire who want to protect their principal, ensuring a worry free retirement knowing their money will last. Estate Planning is also one of John’s strengths. He has shown hundreds of retirees how to build a bridge to safely guide their assets to their loved ones, avoiding Probate Court, Nursing Home spend downs and unnecessary taxes.
John has been a series speaker for many area organizations including, the Springfield Department of Elder Affairs and the Enfield Senior Center. He has been a Guest on the television show “Spotlight on Seniors” and has hosted his own radio show “Hind Sight’s 20 20″. John publishes a quarterly newsletter and is the author of several articles on estate planning.
John grew up in West Springfield, MA. He received his education attending Holyoke Community College and Boston University. In 1982, John joined Retirement Planning Associates, a retirement service and estate preservation firm, to focus on the needs of retirees and those seriously planning for retirement.
In 2006, John founded Wealth Preservation Group, Inc. The new name is a better representation of the mission of the firm. In 2014, Wealth Preservation Group, Inc. opened a satellite office in Massachusetts. Later that same year, John published his first book, “Retirement Income are You on the Right Path?” which is often passed from his clients to their kids as it is John’s belief Retirement Planning is a lifelong commitment.
John lives with his wife, Mary, Southwick, MA.
Mary A. Dee is a Founding Principle at Wealth Preservation Group, Inc, and WPG Advisory Group, LLC. She has been working with John for more than 10 years helping their clients to achieve the financial goals and objectives which are most important to them and their families.
As an Investment Advisor Representative, Mary works as a fiduciary and holds her life and health insurance licenses in both Connecticut and Massachusetts. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Saint Anselm College and her Master’s Degree in Accounting from Western New England University.
She is a lifelong resident of Western MA growing up in Chicopee and living in Longmeadow for 23 years. She currently lives with her husband John in Southwick MA. They have two twenty-something kids, Jessie and Jack . She lives in Southwick MA with her husband John, and Gnarly and Mogul, their Bernese Mountain Dogs. The pups can often be found in the office greeting clients.
Abbe W. McLane is an attorney licensed in Massachusetts, Connecticut and North Carolina. She has a general practice which handles most legal matters, including real estate, elder issues, wills and probate, estate planning, and family.
